The Panalemannic Collective Confederation or simply Panalemannia, is an East-Asuran authoritarian state that was founded in it's present form in 2018 after a coup. The nation has a population of 74.2 million, of which 920,000 serve actively in the military. The nation borders Tyronova to the west, to the south is Pruvaria, and the nation shares a maritime and southeastern border with Vynozhia. The country is known for timber, fishing, and beef exports, chiefly to Vestrim and Catai. The current Tribunal Chairman is Rudolf Van Ayleiter, since 2018. Rudolf is of the Van Aleyiter Royal House, which had ruled Hergemoth since 1412. The nation's GDP is reasonbly high, significantly higher than other Ost-Asuran nations.
Panalemannia is divided into 14 Geimenstaats, commonwealths, and 395 subsequent prefectuurs, all with their own government. The administrative system has been in place since the Reform of 2018 after the coup, but the Ossteraz capital territory stands out from other subdivisons. Panalemannia is a de jure Perpetuist state, but is in reality a conservative Kaznikist system, with higher democratic elements, but the Heads of state and government retains more powers. The Chairman of the Tribunate is elected by the Tribunate, who are in turn are elected by the Chamber of Citizens with the approval of the Gorszaedil. The legislature, the State Diet, is composed of the Tribunate, upper house. The lower house, the Chamber of Citizens, is elected by the people. They represent prefectuurs but some smaller prefectuurs are amalgamated, so the Chamber has 380 members . The representatives serve the people of their electorate and the municipal governments. This system is controversial as it paves the way to corruption among some municipal governments and their deputies.

The first records of settlement in Hergemoth dates back to 2000 BC, when it's believed the grunďërhäus' (ground homes, homes underground) were first built by the Old Medriend peoples. These grunderhaus' were the paveway to the first real villages recorded from around 1750 BC. Farming was said to have first started in Hergemoth around 1800-1300 BC, but it could have been older or more recent. Old Medriend Villages began growing and in 1300 Circa, the Old Medriend began to grow and civilize. Various other tribes from fruther north or south were increasingly concerned about the Old Medriend, and a tribal confederation invaded in Circa 850 BC. This resulted in the purges of Old Medriend peoples. However, the tribal wars between 600 and 800 BC gave the Medriend that fled north time to repopulate.
The first New Medriend migrants returned to modern day Hergemoth around 580-500 BC. They built isolated villages and had no central form of societal governance. The Brilnisch and Wessiener tribes were particulary hostile. Many New Medriend villages were burnt. When Gorak united most northern tribes circa 420 BC, the New Medriend began to grow. They built cities, and lived as a master ethnicity. The wars made them rich, they did no fighting. Gorak II was not as kindly to them however. He did not purge Medriend people but he stripped them of their wealth and status. Gorak however further unified other tribes with little care for the Medriend.
The unification was beneficial to farmers and villages who had suffered the conquests of Gorak, but tribal chieftains were upset at the lack of personal power they could amass. The chieftain of the tribe based in what would be modern day Ossteraz, Gerhümm, started the chaos era in 332 BC, when he unleashed his marauders across the land. Chaos reigned for a maximum of 150 years. Kovaks from the north and east travelled to Hergemoth in the 180s BC, and successfully but brutally put and end to the chaos. Massive slaughters and sackings were recorded during the ancient Kovak invasion. But Kovaks could not stay. On the route from their homeland to Hergemoth, Vvardreni bandits attacked and prevented further Kovak entry. The Vvardreni tribes poured into Hergemoth in 176, committing worse atrocities than the Kovaks, and probably the worst of the ancient era. It's estimated at the highest, that over 300,000 people were massacred during the Vvardreni hoardes advance. Unlike the Kovaks, they stayed only until a brave warrior, Sovmar, stood up and wiped out the tribal army of the Vvardreni in 122 BC. He brought a sort of prequel to Alydianism to the tribes.
Sovmar and his ancestors continued to rule over a new, Alydian tribal confederation, and the people were more appreciative of his saving of them, and thus no discontent occured for many centuries. The last Sovamarite ruler died in 476 with no heir. The tribes retained autonomous and peaceful rule, until a short lived unification with Vvarden in 702. The union was abolished in 719. The tribes, now ridden with warlike Vvardreni, descended again into war, until 827 when they were incorporated into the Almannic Empire. Upon the Empire's collapse in 1283, Hergemoth split into quarelling kingdoms. It was nolonger native, but now an almost fully Almannic nation.
Small, bicerking city-states were established upon collapse of the Almannic Empire. Raeburg became a trader city, rich with merchants. Under the merchant republic, and a Consulate, the port-city flourished in lavish luxury. Meanwhile, other areas of the country had formed their own small nations, and all had a goal to unify Hergemoth. Cravornicht, Boranvia, Aleiyter, Bhomern, Wessas, all kingdoms as well as small duchies. King Geirman's father was King of Cravornicht and mother, heir to the throne of Ayleiter. He subsequently created a personal union which quickly took control of all northern Hergemoth. Kingdoms such as Boranvia, Bhomern, and Wessas, fell to Gierman's conquests by 1375, when the Crown of Six Duchies was established. It's ultimate goal: take Raeberg, and unify Hergemoth. Gierman died in 1384, and Slebstijn was crowned King of Hergemoth. He built the palace at Ossteraz and moved the capital there until Raeberg was captured.
It wasn't until 1412 when Slebstijn took Raeberg. He died in the fighting, but it was assured that the Kingdom of Hergemoth was now formed. Francijs Craviin-Aleiyter inherited the throne. He made great conquests to the south and north, into Catai and Vvarden. He had many children, without considering the consequences. When he died in 1458, he left the nation to 7 children. The eldest, daughter Ingrida, was initally accepted as Queen and crowned as such. But her younger sister Clarina, believed that Ingrida was something of a peasant lover, and had intentions for a republican style nation. Nobles began to be convinced by such claims. The Noble Revolt of 1458 was small at first, but with Clarina proving herself a charismatic leader, more and more began joining her cause.
The revolt spread, and soon became a full-blown war. Francijs' other children began either siding with one of their siblings, or setting up their own faction. The 4th born son, Franz, became popular with rich merchants and mercenaries, particulary in the Raeberg area. A rising of paid soldiers in the city caused it to fall to Franz. He began gaining popularity throughout the nation, and was proclaimed King Raeberg on November 30 1459. His younger brothers Vikajlo and Charles aided him in gaining the upper hand throughout the war. Ingrida surrendered in 1472, Clarina taking parts of her land. The war continued for a few years until in late 1474 Franz was beaten and fled to Lhedwin. Clarina was crowned Clarina I, and soon became known as Clarina the Wicked for her brutal policies of murder and deceit.
While in Lhedwin Franz married Istera, Princess of Navack, and conceived Sigismund in 1479. Clarina's unpopularity and the rise of Charles' rebel movement in Ayleiter presented an oppurtunity. Franz and his family invaded in 1480, quickly deposing Clarina and feeding her alive to wolves. The wolves feces believed to be Queen Clarina can be found in the National History Museum in Raeberg and the Royal Museum in Siegis.
Politics and Government
Panalemannia is a semi-democratic state, ruled by mixed appointed-elected government. The Groszaedi; has a say in many national affairs, especially in matters concerning the common people. The Tribunal Chairman, is not directly elected. He is chosen by the Tribunate, who are made up of 40 people, 20 of which are ministers, and all of them are chosen by the Groszaedil and Chamber of Citizens Committees. The largest current party is Hidden Star-Alydian Conservative. The Chairman and Tribunate can issue policy, and it's rare that the Groszaedil will do this in his the Tribuate's place. Panalemannia is a dominant party state, with VS-AC effectively controlling the legislature.
The Legislature of Panalemannia is the State Diet, a convention of representatives from across Panalemannia. It is composed of two houses as it is bicameral. The upper house is the Tribunate, a group of 40 people, half of which (ministers) are selected by the Groszaedil with the support of the sitting Chairman, the other half (secretaries) by the Chamber of Citizen's Executive Decisions Committee. The Tribunate, being the upper house, votes on any policy drafted by the Groszaedil and passed on by the Chamber, with the Chairman approving of all bills, although the Groszaedil can veto all decisions made in the Tribunate unless a majority of the Chamber overturns that veto. The Chamber of Citizens; the lower house. They vote on policy drafted by the Groszaedil, and they are elected by the general public. It is composed of 380 people, including one Grand Speaker, appointed by a majority of the tribunate.
The Military of Panalemannia is a locally strong force, containing 950,000 active soldiers. Around 6500 tanks are in the arsenal but many more old models could be mobilized in circumstance. Panalemannia is militarily supplied by FK-VA, a oil and arms producing corporation based in the KDPK. The Air Force of Panalemannia is large, containing around 2,100 active planes, mostly domestic or Transcandarian aircraft. It was active during the coup and Aramas intervention, as the Royal Air Force. One of the KDPK's especially powerful military fields is Naval, one of the most powerful in Eastern Asura. Currently 2 aircraft carriers are commisionned by the Panalemannic Naval Command. The current Commander-In-Chief is Uwe Enkarmann
The Panalemannic Economy is a stable, and a successful institution. The Hergean Market is full of decent trade, centered in Rennekka, Asura, Vestrim, Arabekh, and other continents. Various industries including mining, exports, arms, oil, and food supplies are very strong in Hergemoth, taking the form of many successful companies and economic operations. Coal, metals, iron, and copper are highly successful industries in Hergemoth, due to the mines of the southern and northeastern mountains and massive rock ranges. Hergemoth has a decent automobile industry as well, manifesting in several car manufacturing companies in the nation.
Panalemannia has for long been an Alydian nation, known to be largely Orthodox. Renvelic Alydians are also frequent in the PDPK population. Olartru is a small religion, but popular in the north. The Old Hergics aided the crusaders in Arabekh, and conducted their own anti-plartru crusade between 1290 and 1390. These orders are rumored to still exist today, with Hidden Star being conspiracy theorized as a descendant of crusaders. The Alydian demographic in Hergemoth is 68% Alydian, of which 60% are Orthodox, 23% are Testimonial, 17% are Renvelic. Cotrism is the third most popular religion behind Olartru, holding 10% of the populace, with no official regard to denomination. Both the Kingdom of Hergemoth and the current Hidden Star government decree Alydianism as the sole official religion of Hergemoth. The current Archbishop of Boranv is Karl Benedictus.
