The Hennish Republic, commonly known as Hennehouwe, is a sovereign state and confederal republic on the westernmost coast of Euclea. It borders Gaullica to the South, and Teutonia to the North.
The modern day state is descended from the original Hennish Republic, a medieval semi-hereditary crowned republic founded on New Year's Day, 1379 in Zilverzee by delegates rebelling against Gaullica from the Nine Provinces of Hennehouwe. Under the leadership of Hans, Prince of Azure the Hennish Revolution lasted for four years and resulted in the expulsion of the Gaullicans from Hennehouwe.
The Republic was characterized by constant internal conflict between the Prinzists, the monarchist, conservative supporters of the Princes of Azure, the Staatists the republican, liberal, merchant faction and the later on the Patriots, who were notably banished from politics after the Great War.
