The Lichtenberg family is a wealthy political family descending from Kaspar Albert Ruprecht Wilhelm Lichtenberg, the first King of Silesia. Kasper became notable in 1807 when he lead a revolution for independence against his brother, the King of Prussia. His armies were successful and in december 1807, he proclaimed the himself the King of the Kingdom of Silesia. Kaspers brother Wilhelm Lichtenberger banished Kasper from the Family house, and so Kasper founded the House of Lichtenberg.
The House of Lichtenberg went into the 20th century holding the thrones of Silesia, Lusatia and Poland and in 1909 after the death of his cousin, Kaspers son, Kasper II inherited the throne of Lusatia. After Kasper II death in 1911, his son, Albrecht Wilhelm Lichtenberg, united the Kingdoms of Lusatia and Silesia to create the Empire of Slawija. Due to political tensions in Europe during this time, Albrecht and his uncle decided to unify the thrones of Slawija and Poland to create the Diarchy of Poland, where both Albrecht and his uncle, Adolphus, where joint Kings. Due to the diluting of monarchs through unifying thrones, by 1920, the House of Lichtenberg had only 2 monarchs, controlling the throne of one country: Poland. This meant that after the 1922 Polish revolution, the Lichtenberg House was left with no monarchs, and no credibility to claim a throne due to their rivalry with the Lichtenberger House. This lead to the dissolution of the House of Lichtenberg, as a royal house, however, the family didn't grow quiet, instead, they worked with the new democratic systems that were springing up across europe, to solidify their position as the most powerful political family in Europe and in 1930 won their first election which saw Sławomierz Lichtenberg become the 3rd Prime Minister of Poland. Sławomierz went on to become the 2nd President of Poland in 1936. He would hold on to the title of President for 22 years.
In 1943, the Great Civil War broke out in Germany, pitching the Communists against the Capitalists and the Military against both of them. This caused massive destruction throughout Germany, and gave the German side of the Lichtenberg family a way of buying their way back into the life of politics. After the war ended in 1945, the provisional government set up could not agree on what form of system the country should be governed by: Free Market, Centralised Planning, Military Dictatorship. Both the Capitalists and Communists had a mass of support, but the military did not, and with this, East Germany declared its independence under a communist government. With the Lichtenberg family's main residence now lying within communist territory, they fled to the west. While in the Federal Republic of Germany, they struck a deal with the government: The west takes back the east without another war and in return, the Lichtenberg family would fund the rebuilding effort from the Great War. However, after pushing back the easts borders, the east declared war and reclaimed their territory. This pushed the Lichtenberg family to fund a military coup in the east.
During this time, 2 members of the Lichtenberg family, living in the newly formed Czech Republic, were elected into the Czech government. Heřman became the Prime Minister and Soňa became the President, and the first female president in Europe.
After the 1950 military coup succeeded, a member of the Lichtenberg family, after some heavy bribery, was appointed President-General of East Germany, however, the family's main residence remained in the west. The following years were calm, with a member of the family being elected President of Germany in the west, and the President-General of the east remaining stable. However, in 1967, the Lichtenberg family forced President-General Heinrich Lichtenberg to call elections in the East, after they had lost their reelection campaign in the west due to the criticism of their actions in the east and the war against poland that Heinrich has waged a year earlier. This lead to the family, again, having no one in a position of power. Until 1993.
In 1993, Karl Lichtenberg's Progressive Socialist Party won the North East German presidential election making Karl the President of North East Germany. After this the country went dark, the borders closed, internet was banned, and the Lichtenberg Family never revealed any details about Karl's actions between 1993 and 2010. All that is known is that Karl ran a strict communist regime. His son, Sebastian Lichtenberg ran for office after his father's death in january 2010, and won the election. He changed his title to Comrade President, and refused to access any of the wealth of his family. From 2010 to 2016, the Lichtenberg family collectively controlled Sebastian's political actions, as he was the youngest Lichtenberg to ever rule a country, just 22 at the time of his election. The family council tried to make sebastian a puppet, but as an avid believer in communism, he defied their every order. However, the head of the Family Gustav Wilhelm Lichtenberg, Sebastian's grandfather, died in 2016, leaving the entire family wealth to Sebastian. Once he established power within his family in 2016, he decided to institute completely free elections, and teamed up with a liberal party, taking a back seat in the running of North East Germany. Sebastian is now only the Prime Minister of the east, however, the immense wealth and power he has from his family, means he completely controls the economy of North East Germany, as well as several other european countries.
The Lichtenberg Family are estimated to have personal assets of around $700 billion, and financial assets of around $3,000 trillion, making them the richest family in the world. They currently own the Federal Bank of Germany, the Bank of England, the Bank of China, the Russian National Baking Administration, the People's National Bank of North East Germany. They also own the central banks of: India, Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Canada. The family also owns majority shares in Citi Bank Global, Commercia Bank(US) and the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC(UK).
All powerful members of the Lichtenberg Family are under the full control of the Family Council, which is a council of all members of the family, headed by the head of the family, currently Sebastian Lichtenberg. Politicians, economists and bankers of the family are all subject to the will of the council, and are not allowed to go against the word of the family council. Within the council, the head has the ultimate authority, and even if all members vote against an action, the head can still force his will. Not much is known about the council, however, it is responsible for the establishment of the Bilderberg 2 conference, which replaced the Bilderberg Group in 2015. It is believed, that the the conference is used to inform world leaders of the decisions made by the Lichtenberg Family Council, to ensure they comply.
