The T-100 Pantera is a Cydonian advanced Main Battle Tank currently under development by the Research and Design Bureau under a contract from the Cydonian Armed Forces. It is designed to be a successor to the T-90A and T-90AM MBT currently in Cydonian service. The T-100 Pantera is apart of the planned Pantera Universal Combat Platform for the Cydonian Armed Forces. It is to include a MBT(the T-100), an APC/IFV, a Self-Propelled Gun, and an advanced AA system.

Development

The development of the T-100 Pantera started when the need for a next generation tank was made apparent with the development of other foreign tank designs in particular the T-104 Caracal and T-98MS Agila. The development of the Pantera dates back however to the 1995 development of the "Black Bear" MBT that was planned but was cancelled in 2009 in favor of an advanced Universal Combat Platform that the T-100 is apart of. The Development of a UCP began in early 2010 and was codenamed "Pantera", after the type of cat(names of species of cats are popular designations in the Cydonian Armed Forces ex.:CK-1 "Puma"). The Pantera UCP is to contain a advanced MBT(which is the T-100), an IFV, a Self-Propelled Gun, and a AA system said to be similar to the Tunguska and Tor AA systems.

Production and service history

Although Production was to begin in early 2015, production was delayed due to design problems. The Pantera platform is apparently undergoing further evaluations.
