Koyro, officially known as the State of Koyro is a country in Borea, Esquarium. It shares a maritime border with Tuthina and Aleia. The capital and largest city of Koyro is Ansyu. Koyro is one of the most populous nations in Esquarium, with over 600 million inhabitants, the vast majority of which are from the Koy ethnicity.

Koyro is a single-party Ohankaist state, ruled by the Koy Socialist Revolutionary Party. All holders of political and state offices are required to be members of the KSRP or the Armed Forces. The head of party & state, Paramount Leader Ohanka Jon Bak-su, has virtually limitless power over the nation, and is the supreme legislative, executive and judicial authority of the nation. The head of government is the son of Ohanka Jon, Premier Ohanka Han Jon-su, who oversees the day to day running of the nation, and although he legally answers to the Central Committee and Grand National Assembly, in actuality he answers only to his father. Foreign observers have called Koyro one of the most autocratic, nepotistic and repressive regimes in the world. Human rights violations in Koyro have been assessed by international organizations as in a category of their own, with no parallel in the contemporary world. An elaborate personality cult, which has been described as an Imperial Cult, exists around the ruling Ohanka Clan, with particular emphasis on Ohanka Jon Bak-su.

Koyro was originally an autocratic monarchy - Rewrite in prgoress...

The state enjoys total control over the Means of production in Koyro, through state or party-run enterprises, committees and collectivized farms. All services, such as education, healthcare, food production and distribution and housing are controlled directly by the state. Koyro is the only country in Esquarium to not have an official system of currency, with distribution of goods and services flowing through the Central Distribution System. In more recent years, Koyro has opened up to very limited foreign investment, primarily from Tuthinan and Unolian enterprises, all under strict supervision by Koy economic authorities.

Modern Koyro is considered to be a Great power in Esquarium. It is a founding member of both the Iron Pact and the Monic Cultural Union, in addition Koyro is a member of the Organisation of Esquarian Nations. Koyro maintains the largest standing military in the region, with the Koy National Revolutionary Army containing over 9,500,000 active personnel.

The State of Koyro functions as a highly centralised, one-party state. According to decree from the legislature, the Grand National Assembly, Koyro is a self-described socialist state "guided in it's activities by the revolutionary teachings of Great Leader Ohanka Jon Bak-su." The Koy Socialist Revolutionary Party largely dominates every aspect of Koy politics. Another important organisation is the Koy National Revolutionary Army, the military has become increasingly interested and important within the context of Koy political leadership. Ohanka Jon Bak-su heads all major government structures. He is Paramount Leader of State, Chairman of the KSRP and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The position of Paramount Leader, held by Ohanka Jon Bak-su since it's creation, is the supreme office of state. In addition to being official Head of State, it grants him absolute executive, and legislative powers over Koyro, and official state authority over the executive and legislative branches. The Paramount Leader represents the state in foreign relations. The position of Paramount Leader is for life or until resignation. The Presidium of the Grand National Assembly theoretically elects a successor to the position following the death or resignation of the incumbent.

The executive body is the State Executive Committee. Which is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the nation, management and direction of the koy economy and implementation of party policy. The State Executive Committee is headed by Chairman Ohanka Han Jon-su, who is the son of Ohanka Jon Bak-su. The Chairmanship was previously held by Ohanka Hyong Bak-su since it's creation until Hyong was given the Koy Ambassadorship to Magane in July 2015. The Chairman is more commonly known as the Premier. The Chairman officially represents the Government and operates independently. Under the jurisdiction of the Chairman are the Vice-Chairman or Vice-Premier, 13 ministries, the State Industrial and Economic Commission, which contains 16 ministries and offices concerned with management of Koy industry and services, the State Agricultural Production and Distribution Commission, under which are 9 ministries and offices concerned with Koy agriculture and related economic areas, the Ansyu Administration Commission, the Cabinet Secretariat, a number of party secretariats with state representation and the National Statistics Office. Approximately 50 ministry and ministry-level offices are under the State Executive Committee, making it one of the largest in Esquarium.

The Ansyu Assembly Hall is the seat of the Grand National Assembly

Legislative authority lies with the unicameral Grand National Assembly. It's 3,000 members are drawn through various means. Approximately 50% are elected by provincial, municipal and county People's Assemblies from their own ranks. In addition a large portion are appointed by the party leadership to represent workers from industry, agriculture, the intelligentsia and the military, with the remaining number of seats being allocated to the heads of important party positions. All members terms are for a five-year period, renewable indefinitely. Sessions of the GNA are convened by the Presidium of the Grand National Assembly. Representatives formally elect a chairman, vice chairman and members of the Presidium, as well as taking part in the activities of the legislature, including passing laws, establish domestic and foreign policy with guidance from party secretariats and ideology, appoint members of the State Executive Committee, approve promotion to senior military positions, review and approve the state economic plan, and others. The Grand National Assembly is largely considered to be a rubber-stamp organisation. It lacks the ability to initiate legislation independently of party or state organisations. It has never been known to reject any legislation or candidate for office placed before it. The current chairman of the GNA is Roh Myong Kung-su. All 3,000 representatives of the GNA are members of the ruling Koy Socialist Revolutionary Party. No form of mass election is held for legislative office.

Aside from approval from the legislature for high-level promotions, the Koy National Revolutionary Army is independent from control by the civilian government.

The Military of the State of Koyro is the Koy National Revolutionary Army. Which is divided into five official branches, The Koy National Ground Forces, The Koy National Air Forces, The Koy National Naval Forces, Special Operations Force and Strategic Weapons guidance bureau. The Koy National Revolutionary Army is controlled by the Central Military Commission. Koyro is a nuclear-armed state, possessing a large stockpile of nuclear weapons, as well as a large amount of chemical and biological weapons. Koyro maintains one of the world's largest military, albeit not as technologically advanced as western nations. 3 years military service is required for all men aged 18 through to 21 with a few exceptions. At the end of this three year period a conscript may choose to stay on as a voluntary soldier.

The Largest branch of the KNRA is the Koy National Ground Force. It is responsible for Ground-based warfare operations. It relies almost entirely on its superior numbers and raw firepower to overcome hostile forces. As such it often lacks in mobility and technological superiority. Its responsibility is, as described by Supreme Revolutionary Law #5, to preserve and safeguard peace in the State of Koyro, Defend the Socialist values embodied by the Koy Nation and Defend the Sovereignty of Koyro and spread Ohankaism through military force. The Koy National Ground Forces also performs border-guard duties for the State of Koyro.

The Koy National Naval Force is the second largest component of the KNRA. It is a blue-water navy and relies upon heavy, large warships and large numbers to defeat its enemies. However in recent years it has begun construction of a large amount of smaller, more manoeuvrable craft to counter similar developments in hostile nations. Koyro also maintains one of the largest submarine fleets in the world. Its function is to safeguard the seas around Koyro, power projection, sea control, coast guard duties and nuclear deterrence. The Koy National Naval Forces currently operates around 1400 ships, ranging from small minesweepers to large aircraft carriers and missile battleships.

The Koy National Air Force is the third largest branch of the KNRF and tasked with the air defence of Koyro. Although the Koy National Air Forces is not as large or as well supplied by the Ground and Naval Forces, it is still a vital part of the Koy National Revolutionary Army. The KNAF does not only operate the Aircraft of the Koy National Revolutionary Army, but also the Ground Air Defence Systems, such as SAM emplacement, and ground-based Early Warning Systems.

The Special Operations Force is the special forces branch of the Koy National Revolutionary Army dedicated entirely to performing the Special Operations duties of the Armed Forces, including Assassination of High Value Military Targets, Sabotage of Hostile Military Equipment, Airborne Operations and Intelligence and Infiltration Operations. Unlike other branches of the KNRA, the Special Operations Force relies on high mobility, stealth and guerilla warfare to overcome hostile forces. The Special Operations Force contains around 180'000 soldiers.

The Strategic Weapons Guidance Bureau operates and maintains all of the Koy National Revolutionary Army's Strategic Weapons Systems, including nuclear missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons and conventional cruise missiles. In addition to this the Strategic Weapons Guidance Bureau also operates the KNRF cyberwarfare division and carries out all cyberwarfare operations. During the War for Reunification The SWGB was known to plan and carry out Propaganda and Psychological Campaigns against South Koyro, weakening the morale of the South Koy population and South Koy Military. Its offical role, as defined by Supreme Revolutionary Law #5, is to ensure the safety of Koyro from foreign aggression through MAD (Mutally Ensured Destruction). The Strategic Weapons Guidance Bureau is the smallest branch of the Koy National Revolutionary Army in terms of manpower.

National State Milita

The National State Milita Is the branch of the military for those serving compulsory armed service. All Koy Men are required following their 18th birthday to serve 4 years compulsory military service which is served in the National State Milita. Around 7 million men in Koyro turn 18 each year, as such there are about 28 Million People in the NSM. Given its sheer size, most national conscripts serve their time in Factories, Farms, Logistical Work, Clerical Work for the Regular Armed Forces and in Community Service. The National State Milita becomes a full-fighting force during times of War. Although the National State Milita is technically the armed wing of the Koy Socialist Revolutionary Party, it answers to the State Central Military Commission in modern times. The Militia operates a ground, naval and air force similarly to the ground force.

A near absence of private automobiles has relegated roads as a secondary mode of personal travel, in addition the State's preference for rail transport also renders the roads of secondary concern for the national economy. The total length of the road network in Koyro was estimated to be 1,400,000 km in 2001. Only around 15% of roads are paved, with the remaining being dirt roads. The roads, except for vital economic and military lines of communication, and major routes for international trade, are generally in a poor state of repair due to a lack of maintenance. The vast majority of private automobiles are owned by high ranking party and military officials.

Koyro is an industrialised nation. Industry accounts for 50% of the GDP. Industry and services employ around 65% of the Labour force

Koyro maintains one of the most closed and centralised economies in Esquarium. It follows a system of 5-year economic plans with the ultimate goal of achieving self-sufficiency. The state enjoys near total ownership over the means of production, with the government owning almost all mines, factories and farms through a system of industrial cooperatives, national corporations and collective farms. Services such as housing, healthcare, education and utilities are provided freely by the state. The country is not welcoming to foreign investment, with only limited investment from Aininian, Unolian, Tuthinan and Teutonian firms being permitted. These enterprises fall under strict supervision of Koy economic authorities.

Koyro holds the profile of an industrialised nation, around half of the gross domestic product is generated by Industry, human development levels are estimated to be around medium levels. The estimated GDP per capita of Koyro is $7327.5, with a total around $4.4 trillion. Koyro officially abolished its national currency, the won, in 1998. Goods and services are distributed to the population via the Central Distribution System. Despite abandonment of the official currency in 1998, foreign currencies remain in widespread use. The Central Distribution System is not considered to be particularly effective, and a series of Sumgyeojin Sijang (black markets) have sprung up across the nation for the purposes of local trade. The state maintains reserves of foreign funds for the purposes of international trade, primarily the Tuthinan Zeni and Aininian louré.

Industries and services employ 65% of the labour force. Major industries include machine building, military equipment, chemicals, mining, metallurgy, textiles and food processing. The primary mined resources are coal and iron ore. Since 2006 Koyro has created a Ministry of Tourism Industry which has been a growing industry since.

Personality Cult

A Bronze statue of Ohanka Jon Bak-su in Ansyu One of thousands that stand of him around the country as a result of his elaborate personality cult.

The Koy Government excersises total control over all aspects of the national culture, and utilizes this control to promote a Cult of Personality around the Ohanka Jon Bak-su, and to a lesser extent, his brother, Ohanka Hyong Bak-su. Virtually all music, art and sculpture in Koyro glorify the "Great Leader" Ohanka Jon Bak-su and that which does not glorified either the Ruling Koy Socialist Revolutionary Party or Ohanka's Ideology. Mythical events created by the State Propaganda Department are presented as fact to school children who must study "The Childhood, Life and Revolutionary Work of Ohanka Jon Bak-su" as a mandatory part of the education system. One such Mythical event is his birth, where children are tought that Ohanka Jon was born atop Chendu Mountain, where a bright light shot high into the sky, and a bright red star appeared, birds and animals of all kinds flocked to see the new-born child who would lead Koyro to True Greatness. The extent of Ohanka Jon Bak-su's personality cult is so much that the vast majority of the population genuinely believe the mythical tales presented to them about their Great Leader.

Several Government positions were created for the express purpose to honour Ohanka Jon Bak-su, namely Paramount Leader of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Koy National Army. State-controlled Media of Koyro exists almost exclusively to glorify Ohanka Jon Bak-su, and has given rise to countless propaganda titles, most of which are used by the Koy people to refer to Ohanka Jon instead of using his actual name, some examples include "Great Leader" "Glorious General" "Ever-Victorious, Iron-willed Commander" "Guiding Ray of The Nation" "Glorious Incarnation of The Nation" and "Eternal Guide of the Revolution". Several books supposidly written by Ohanka Jon are required to be owned by all Koy Citizens and it is believed that it is impossible to walk more than 30 yards in the State of Koyro without encountering a Propaganda Image or Monument to Ohanka Jon. The political teachings of Ohanka Jon, namely Ohankaism became the offical State Ideology in 1998, a mere 4 years after he became Leader of Koyro.

Recently, the Ohanka Cult has been expanded to include the son of Ohanka Jon, Ohanka Han Jon-su, who is expected ascend to the position of Paramount Leader after his Father. Public murals now often depict the two together, and Ohanka Han is offically addressed in the state-run media as "The Great Successor".
